As an out-of-state applicant, you are required to meet Riverside County’s eligibility criteria in order to apply for a CCW permit. Reviewing these requirements is an important first step.
Applicant must be a current member of one of the following organizations:
Must attest to intent to spend time within Riverside County over the next 12 months
Must be 21 years of age or older and legally eligible to own a firearm
Valid government-issued ID (non-CA driver's license acceptable). If the ID lacks a current address, supplemental address documentation (e.g, utility bill, out-of-state CCW) is required
The training certificate doesn't expire, but you should complete your permit application promptly as requirements may change.
Our CCW course meets all California training requirements. However, permit approval is determined by your local sheriff's department based on their criteria.
California CCW permits are valid for 2 years. You'll need 8 hours of renewal training before expiration. We offer convenient renewal courses.
While we can't complete applications for you, we provide guidance on common sections and can review your application for completeness before submission.
Yes! California law requires live-fire training. Our course includes range time where you'll demonstrate safe handling and basic marksmanship skills.
