Riverside County CCW Training – Initial, Renewal, Online & Live-Fire Qualification

Veterans Training Group provides Riverside County CCW training options for initial and renewal applicants, including online coursework where authorized and required live-fire qualification. Current Riverside County Sheriff guidance requires a 16-hour course for initial applicants and an 8-hour course for renewal applicants. Both initial and renewal applicants must complete live-fire qualification with the firearms listed on the CCW.

Important 2026 renewal update: California requires new fingerprints through Live Scan for CCW renewal applications submitted on or after September 1, 2026. Follow the Riverside County Sheriff's current application and Live Scan instructions.

New applicants do not currently need to complete training before the Riverside County interview, but the required training and qualification must be completed before the application process is finalized and the permit is issued.

How often do I need to renew my CCW Permit?

California CCW permits are valid for 2 years. You'll need 8 hours of renewal training before expiration. We offer convenient renewal courses.
Do you help with the application paperwork?

While we can't complete applications for you, we provide guidance on common sections and can review your application for completeness before submission.
Does your CCW course include live-fire training?

Yes! California law requires live-fire training. Our course includes range time where you'll demonstrate safe handling and basic marksmanship skills.
Do you offer an online CCW Permit course?

Yes! Veterans Training Group offers online CCW Permit training for Riverside County residents, as well as out-of-state applicants processing through Riverside County. Complete your required training from the comfort of your home while still meeting all county requirements.
